Any hunters out there?
My husband is a hunter, and I grew up near the Canadian Rockies in a ranching and farming community where hunting is part of life. So we combined our passions for children's books and hunting and created this picture book!
I'm so excited about this book! It was inspired by the people and places from my hometown in Alberta and my husband's hometown in Wisconsin. This is the book of my heart and it's a huge love letter to people in small towns and rural areas everywhere ❤️

Where do you buy books?
We used to have a fantastic used bookstore in town, but it closed a few years ago. Since then, we've either had to buy books online or make a 30-45 minute drive to the closest Barnes & Noble or indie bookstore. Obviously, we didn't get to one very often.
The other day I saw a Facebook post from a local thrift store about their Book Land. I was so excited! Today, I took the kids there and it was amazing! They had a mini bookstore inside the thrift shop. All the books were priced between $0.50 - $1.00, so we treated ourselves to a bunch of new-to-us books!
