When Rosie the Dragon and Charlie Say Goodnight arrived in the mail, my 5-year-old pulled it out of the packaging and said, ” Look at this adorable dragon book!”

She got even more excited when I showed her that it was the sequel to Rosie the Dragon and Charlie Make Waves. I mean, the only thing better than one adorable book about a boy and his pet dragon is two adorable books about a boy and his pet dragon. We read them both at bedtime that night.

In their first book, Rosie and Charlie went swimming, and that was quite the adventure! Now they’re headed to bed. Charlie bathes Rosie, brushes her teeth, and reads her a story. Of course, when your pet is a dragon, nothing goes according to plan. From missing stuffed animals to pajamas that are too hot, children (and parents) will relate to this humorous bedtime adventure.

My daughter loved this giggle-worthy story. She loved the illustrations (they’re super cute) and pointing out all the funny things happening in them. It makes a wonderful addition to our collection of bedtime books for kids!

With all of my children, I found that having a consistent bedtime routine made a world of difference. Especially when my kids were toddlers and preschoolers, having a routine in place made bedtime a relaxing time for us to wind down together. I created this printable toddler bedtime routine chart, took it to Office Max, and got it laminated. Then, we used dry-erase markers to check off each thing as we got it done.

Here are the steps included in the toddler bedtime routine chart:

  1. Pick up toys.
  2. Take a bath.
  3. Brush teeth.
  4. Put on pajamas.
