Free Printable Neighborhood Photo Scavenger Hunt!

Operation Photobomb by Becky Cattie and Tara Luebbe is a funny picture book about a Chameleon who loves photobombing everyone’s pictures. I’m thrilled to partner with Albert Whitman & Company to bring you this blog post and a printable neighborhood photo scavenger hunt for your kids!

When Monkey finds a camera, Chameleon wants to be in every picture. He has lots of good ideas, but Monkey won’t listen to him. So, Chameleon decides to take matters into his own hands. He starts to photobomb every picture Monkey takes. It doesn’t matter how the other animals try to distract him, Chameleon finds a way into every photo. Finally, the other animals decide to teach Chameleon some photo-taking manners, which has hilarious results.

Kids love taking pictures and they love being in pictures. Young readers will relate to Chameleon and his desire to be the center of the camera’s attention. With plenty of laughs along the way and colorful, energetic illustrations, this book is destined to be a kid-pleaser! They’ll love Chameleon’s creativity and tenacity, as well as the satisfying ending.

Neighborhood Photo Scavenger Hunt

Reading to my daughter about Chameleon’s photobombing habit got me thinking about how fun a neighborhood scavenger hunt would be. I made this list of things typically found in neighborhoods. Give each child a copy, then send them out to take pictures (encourage photobombing). Declare the first kid to come back with pictures of every item on the list the winner.

Of course, you can always send the kids out as a team to find everything. Either way, it’s a lot of fun and it’s a good activity for birthdays, parties, or playdates.
