Meet Filigree, a tiny Pomeranian dog with big dreams of patriotism. When Filigree finds himself abandoned and alone, Paul Revere adopts him. Even though Filigree wants to do his part in the revolution, he’s only a small dog. The dogs in the patriot pack dismiss him as too little to help. The loyalist pack sees him as a traitor and spy. The fluffy little dog proves his mettle by helping Paul Revere on his legendary ride to warn the patriots that the British army is coming.

Filigree’s Midnight Ride is the first book in the new At The Heels of History series for kids ages 6-8. The large text, simple vocabulary, and plenty of black and white illustrations make it perfect for independent readers interested in American history. Kids will especially enjoy seeing these legendary events happen through the eyes of a dog. This is a fun, easy-to-read story that will appeal to animal lovers, history lovers, and teachers.
